Now that we’re in the middle of the holiday season, and Christmas morning is quickly approaching, you probably have a million things left to do. Buying the perfect gift for a mom who only asks for practical items, finding that sold out toy for a child that will be terribly disappointed if Santa doesn’t deliver, figuring out what to give the neighbors this year, finishing up those hand-made Christmas cards you swore you’d start earlier this year… The list goes on and on.

In all the hustle and bustle of the season, don’t forget to take a few minutes to make sure you’re ready to take great photos on Christmas morning. That way, you won’t have any regrets over photos you failed to get when you find a minute after the holidays to scrapbook.

The biggest part of being ready to take those fabulous shots is getting prepared. And you can do it in two easy steps.

1. Make a list of those shots you want to get. Don’t forget to take a quick look through last year’s scrapbook to remind yourself of which photos you wished you taken to include on your scrapbook pages. To help you out, Creating Keepsakes has started Holiday Photos Checklist for you. Use this one as is, or add to it to get all those great photos.

2. Review your camera manual and make a note on how to get exactly the shots you’re looking for. Can’t find your camera manual? No worries. Check out the following web sites to find yours:

Olympus camera

Nikon cameras

Or download Creating Keepsakes Camera Mode Teach Sheet to have on hand, so you don’t miss that perfect photo.

But most of all, remember to have fun with your photography this season! Because Christmas is really all about friends and family—no matter how photogenic we are.

Happy holidays!
